Built on Gallo-roman remains in the late 16th century, the Château de la Bourbansais, and its French-style gardens inspired by the French landscape designer Le Nôtre have been heritage-lisred since 1959.

It has been carfefully maintained and restored in order to enhance its cultural patrimony and to offer guided tours as well as educational tours for school groups.
